Project overview

West Hull Health Hub is a modern £8 million primary care facility developed to improve healthcare provision for thousands of patients across west Hull. Completed in 2021, the two-storey health hub was designed to bring a wider range of community and primary care services together under one roof, reducing reliance on hospital-based treatment and creating a more accessible healthcare environment for local residents.

The facility replaces the former Springhead Medical Centre, which had reached full capacity and could no longer adequately support the growing demand for integrated healthcare services. Designed by P+HS Architects and constructed by Sewell Construction, the new building provides 32 clinical rooms, including GP consulting rooms, nurse consulting rooms, treatment spaces, clinical support areas, offices, a welcoming reception and waiting area, an on-site pharmacy, accessible facilities, and dedicated parking.

As part of the Modality Partnership Hull Division, which serves more than 60,000 patients across the city, West Hull Health Hub has been created to support future healthcare delivery by offering increased capacity, greater flexibility, and a modern environment that can adapt to changing patient needs. The development represents a significant investment in the local healthcare infrastructure and provides a state-of-the-art setting for delivering high-quality patient care.

OUR SOLUTION

Capricorn Contracts was appointed to supply and install a range of specialist window shading and privacy solutions throughout the new healthcare facility, helping create a comfortable, hygienic, and functional environment for both patients and healthcare professionals. Working alongside Sewell Construction, we delivered products specifically selected to meet the demanding requirements of a modern clinical setting.

Our installation package included 50 R200S chain-operated roller blinds, providing effective daylight control, privacy, and glare reduction across clinical and administrative spaces. In treatment and examination areas, we installed 35 Movatrack cubicle tracking systems paired with Marlux Uni-Glide Anti-Bac hospital curtains, helping to maintain patient dignity while supporting infection prevention measures. We also supplied and installed shower curtains within designated hygiene facilities to ensure consistency of performance across the building.

The solutions were selected to complement the health hub’s focus on patient wellbeing, accessibility, and operational efficiency. By combining durable, easy-to-maintain products with specialist healthcare-grade materials, Capricorn Contracts helped create a safe, welcoming environment that supports the delivery of essential community healthcare services for years to come.
