Royal Free Hospital is one of London’s leading NHS teaching hospitals, providing a wide range of acute, specialist, and outpatient services to patients across the capital. As part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, the hospital operates within a busy healthcare environment where patient privacy, infection control, and clinical efficiency are fundamental considerations in the design and operation of healthcare spaces.
Modern healthcare facilities require practical, durable interior solutions that support both patients and staff while meeting strict operational and hygiene standards. From treatment areas and ward spaces to consultation rooms and clinical support environments, every element must contribute to a safe, comfortable, and functional setting.
Capricorn Contracts was appointed to provide specialist privacy and shading systems that would enhance the hospital environment, support infection prevention measures, and improve the overall functionality of clinical spaces.
Working alongside contractor Northgate and architect Ansell + Bailey, Capricorn Contracts delivered a specialist healthcare fit-out package for Royal Free Hospital, completed in March 2021. The project focused on creating practical, hygienic, and adaptable environments that support both patient care and day-to-day clinical operations.
The installation included 22 Cleanitrack cubicle track systems, selected for their suitability within demanding healthcare environments where patient privacy, durability, and ease of maintenance are essential. These systems enable clinical spaces to be configured efficiently while providing effective screening during examinations, treatments, and consultations.
In addition to the cubicle tracking systems, Capricorn Contracts supplied and installed aluminium Venetian blinds throughout designated areas of the facility. The blinds provide precise light control, reduce glare, and enhance privacy while offering a robust and easy-to-maintain solution ideally suited to healthcare settings.
Together, the cubicle tracking and shading solutions help create comfortable, functional environments for patients and staff while supporting the hospital’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high clinical and operational standards.
